# Cookie Policy

## 1. What this policy covers

This policy explains how Openshard, Inc. ("Openshard") uses cookies and similar technologies, such as local storage, on openshard.dev and app.openshard.dev. Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser.

## 2. The short version

We use only the cookies needed to run the site and keep you signed in, plus a few that remember your choices. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

## 3. Cookies we use

### Strictly necessary

- Sign-in and session cookies on app.openshard.dev, set by us and our authentication provider, WorkOS, to keep you signed in and protect your account.
- Security cookies that help prevent fraud and abuse.
- Payment cookies set by Stripe when you start a trial or update billing.

These are needed for the Services to work, so they cannot be turned off in our settings.

### Preferences

- Local storage that remembers small choices, such as a selected tab, a dismissed notice or a newsletter sign-up on this browser.

### Third-party features

- Cal.com, when you open the demo booking window. Cal.com may set its own cookies to make booking work. See Cal.com's privacy policy.
- GitHub, when you sign in or install the Openshard GitHub App from GitHub's site.

### Analytics

We do not currently use analytics cookies. If we add them, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

## 4. Managing cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Services, such as signing in, will not work.

## 5. Changes to this policy

We will update this page if the cookies we use change, and change the date at the top.
